 ## How to do it 1. **Prepare both devices:** Make sure **Wi-Fi and Bluetooth** are turned on for both your Mac and iPhone. Keep them within 10 meters of each other. 2. **Select and share:** On the sending device, select the file, photo, or link you want to share. Tap the **Share button** (the square with an upward arrow). 3. **Choose AirDrop:** In the sharing menu, tap **AirDrop**. Your other device should appear within a few seconds. 4. **Pick the recipient:** Tap on the target device. The file transfers immediately. 5. **Accept on the receiver:** Transfers between your own devices signed in to the same Apple Account are accepted automatically. Other people see a confirmation prompt; current systems may also require an AirDrop code for non-contacts. ## Why this helps - Both devices need **Wi-Fi and Bluetooth** turned on to start; they do not need to share the same Wi-Fi network. - The transfer is **encrypted**. - If you leave Bluetooth or Wi-Fi range after the transfer starts, current systems can continue it over the internet. ## Security tip Use **Contacts Only** or **Everyone for 10 Minutes** instead of leaving reception open. This reduces unwanted requests in public places. > **Tip:** AirDrop also works between different people's Apple devices β great for sharing photos at events or family gatherings.
