TL;DR
Shazam is built into iPhone: add Recognize Music to Control Center, tap it when a song plays, and open your history with a long press.
Checked 1 source Season: All year
How to do it
- Open Control Center and tap Add Controls (+) at the top.
- Tap Add a Control, then choose Recognize Music.
- When a song plays, tap Recognize Music in Control Center.
- The title and artist appear in a notification.
- Touch and hold the control, then tap History to revisit earlier matches.
Why this works
Music Recognition is built into iPhone. You do not need the separate Shazam app for quick identification or history; the app mainly adds a library, richer song information, and streaming links.
Good to know
- Internet required: Recognition runs via Shazam's servers.
- Noisy environments: Heavy background noise or live performances can reduce accuracy.
- Open your history: Touch and hold Recognize Music in Control Center, then tap History.
- Shazam app optional: Install it only if you want the full library, lyrics, concert information, or streaming connections.
